Welcome to the DPSG!

In the Beaver Groups, children under the age of 6 are already learning about the adventure of Scouting.

The Cub Scouts (6-10 years old) mainly discover their everyday environment and try to shape it according to their wishes.

Children between the ages of 9 and 13 belong to the Explorers (german: Jungpfadfinder*innen), in this section everything revolves around adventure.

Pathfinders are between 12 and 16 years old, the motto of this section is "Dare!". The teens are challenged to find their own lifestyle and use their troop time for what they want to accomplish together.

Rovers (16 - 20 years) are on the road - not only on the road to different places, but also on the road from youth to adult and on the road to themselves.

You can become a leader in the DPSG from the age of 18. The leaders prepare group lessons, activities and camps and guide the children and young people.

The DPSG is a part of the catholic church and has made it its task to and has set itself the task of conveying a Christian image of man, which is based on the unprejudiced acceptance by God. Openness and tolerance towards all people, independent of culture, nation, religion, gender, disability and sexual orientation. Camping, the simple life under the open sky and enjoying nature with all senses - that is an integral part of scouting. But we in the DPSG not only want to experience nature, we also want to preserve it as God's creation. Today, when man-made climate change has long since become a reality, this is more important than ever. This includes teaching children and young people to treat our natural environment with respect. This, too, is becoming increasingly important as children spend more time indoors than outdoors and become more and more alienated from nature.

In the DPSG, we are committed to international friendship and solidarity, partnership and cooperation, as well as active participation in issues of global development and peace. Our goal is to empower the members of the DPSG to help shape globalization and work for a more just world. In particular, we want to bring the countries and cultures of our partners closer to our members in order to develop an understanding of the political, economic and social interdependencies worldwide.

The DPSG is inclusive. The dignity and uniqueness of each person, as well as the possibility of development and the ability to shape their own life self-determined is our goal. In actions and topics, the goals are determined by the participants themselves, so the heart is in it. Through the activation of the senses and the use of personal strength, there is the best possible, holistic involvement of all in games, actions and group lessons.

"The members of the Deutsche Pfadfinderschaft Sankt Georg strive to live the church as the people of God in common faith, prayer, and action," reads the association's constitution, which describes the DPSG's self-image.

For this reason, the tribes are usually linked to parishes and are part of the parish youth work there. The DPSG is an active member in the federation of the German catholic youth (BDKJ) as well as the international catholic conference of the Pathfinderism (ICCS) and understands itself as an federation in the church.

The DPSG wants to strengthen, protect and educate children to become self-confident people. Leaders at all levels take responsibility for the children and young people in the association. Prevention and child protection has long been a topic in the association's regulations and in the training of leaders. For the practical work in the groups, this means that we not only need new methods, but also a targeted use and subsequent reflection of previous methods of group and personality strengthening.
